If you are new to the area and/or will be locating in Spoon River Electric’s service territory, getting electricity when and where you need it is easy. Here’s the process:

  1. First verify that we serve the location by contacting our office 309.647.2700. When you contact us we will need to know one of the following: meter number, map location number, account number, or name of previous member at the location.
  2. Next, you will need to complete a membership application. (A membership is required for each location where service is requested.) This may be done in our office or downloaded and printed from here:
  3. Submit your application to our office in person or by mail. We require all applications to have a live signature.
  4. Upon receiving your application, we require a $5 membership fee and an advanced deposit $100 for members who own the property and $300 for members who are renters.
